Weekly Scripture Resources
for Catholic Children's Ministry
YEAR A

Welcome to Weekly scripture resources for Catholic Children’s Ministry! – Year A

The liturgical calendar provides a beautiful rhythm, creating opportunities for children to encounter the mysteries of Jesus’ life and to experience what it means to be part of the living, breathing community of the Church. As they engage with each season, celebration and year that passes, kids can ‘grow up’ in the reality of God’s life and love, and find their home in the Church!

These resources follow the liturgical calendar, focusing on the Gospel reading for each Sunday. They are designed with a variety of contexts in mind, reflecting the many ways children engage with their faith: at home, in church through Children’s Liturgy of the Word, during sacramental preparation, in the classroom, or even in Catholic care programs. Each moment provides a chance for children to connect with this beautiful journey.

We encourage you to think of these resources as a ‘toolbox.’ Some activities may work perfectly for Children’s Liturgy of the Word, while others are ideal for home or classroom use. They are organized according to the lectionary and include a weekly message, a craft, an activity, and an interactive prayer experience—all based on that Sunday’s Gospel.
