You are My Disciples
~ Wednesday Week 5 of Easter ~
Acts 15:1-6; Ps 121:1-5; Jn 15:1-8
‘Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit.’ (John 15:5)
Our call to being disciples of Jesus begins with our Baptism. We enter this gift of living the gospel way of life and are drawn into living of the gospel wherever we are called to live out our call to being disciples of Jesus.
The image of Jesus as the ‘true vine’ calls us to renew our relationship with Jesus and to be constantly aware that He is the source of our life, the source of our energy to witness to Christ in every situation of our lives. This is a rich image of being closely united to Jesus who want us to enrich our lives with His love and compassion.
Certainly, there will be times of doubt and uncertainty in our hearts, but Jesus gives us the strength and courage to step out in faith, to embrace the call to witness to His love and mercy and to enable His life to be the source of peace and comfort to all those whom we are called to serve within our families and faith communities.
