Season of Creation for Kids

Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family comes together for the Season of Creation, a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. We remember that the wellbeing of all people is interwoven with the wellbeing of the Earth and we embrace this opportunity to connect, protect and celebrate our common home and all who share it.

This year, the theme for the season is “Living Water”, with the symbol “Immersion in Living Water”, inspired by Ezekiel 47:9 and 12. The text, theme and symbol focus on our hope in God, and the comfort and healing God brings even when things seem dark. Of course, God is the source of this hope and healing but each of us have a role to play in making it a reality. Isn’t that wonderful! Through every caring action we get to be a part of God’s work in the world!

Check out the resources below to explore this wonderful Season of Creation with kids.

Praising God in Creation Prayer Experience

This is a very simple way of praying that invites us to join in with creation, every leaf, bird, flower, all of it, as it gives worship to God!

Nature Art

Children use the natural resources to write a word or phrase that connects their hearts to God and reminds people who walk by of God's goodness in creation.
