Feast, The Conversion of Saint Paul, apostle

~ Saturday, Week 2 of Ordinary Time ~

‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.’ (Mark 16:15)

The journey of spreading Christ’s message began with the Apostles, who were entrusted with the profound mission to share the teachings of Jesus. This mission saw a pivotal moment in the transformative encounter of Saul, later known as St Paul, on the road to Damascus. His conversion from a fervent persecutor of Christians to a devout apostle of Christ exemplifies the power of divine intervention and the boundless graces that can change hearts and minds.

This mission of spreading the Good News transcends time, continuing today through the sacrament of baptism. Baptism is not merely a ritual but a powerful initiation into a life dedicated to sharing the love and teachings of Christ. It is our insertion into the mystical body of Jesus Christ and our commitment to live out the Gospel in our daily lives.

We are called to nurture the spark of this sacred mission, kindling it within our hearts and in the lives of those we touch. Each of us carries the profound responsibility to reflect Christ’s message through our deeds, words, and every interaction. In doing so, we partake in the timeless journey of faith, illuminating hope and inspiring belief in Jesus in all whom we meet.
