Archdiocesan Ministries has developed a three year strategic plan that clearly articulates our vision for the future with measurable outcomes. This strategic plan is the foundation for all our initiatives from 2025-2027.

Synod24 action plans
SYNOD24 marked the Implementation Phase of the Fifth Plenary Council for the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Since 2018 our Australian church has been asking the question: “What is the Holy Spirit asking of us at this time”?.
In September and October 2024, the Archdiocese of Brisbane celebrated a synod to mark the next phase of the Plenary Council journey, the Implementation Phase. Through listening, dialogue and discernment voices were heard and captured through Fifth Plenary Council Decrees.
Our Archdiocesan synod discerned the practical and Spirit-led actions that we, as the Archdiocese of Brisbane, need to undertake in the Implementation Phase of the Plenary Council.
The Plenary Decrees
The four-year journey of the Fifth Plenary Council of Australia reached the second – and final – assembly in July 2022. There, more than 35 motions were put to a consultative and a deliberative vote. The result of these motions have also influenced the direction of our strategic plan.
