Dropbox PDF Resources
Each week we release downloadable PDF resources based on the lectionary (focused on the Gospel reading for that Sunday) that include:
- Scripture: chosen from the readings of the day and broken open further through the other resources
- Messages: These inputs aim to break open the topic in a way that is engaging and interesting to children
- Activities: Games or interactive activities where children can learn and develop a deeper understanding of the core message
- Crafts: Activities where children can further break open the gospel message
- Prayer: Examples and suggestions for guided prayers for individuals or groups to draw closer to God
For access to these free resources get in touch with our team today at childrenandfamilies@bne.catholic.net.au

Lent And Advent Calendars
For Lent and Advent each year we release a calendar to help the children in your life enter into the special season.
CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY BOOK
To help children engage with the Christmas season in a special way, we’ve created a Christmas activity book, ‘Christmas Isn’t Just One Day’. It includes stories, puzzles, colouring-in, recipes and prayers – as well as a few ideas for parents.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place when children are led from the Sunday assembly during the Liturgy of the Word and celebrate separately a Liturgy of the Word more appropriate to their level of understanding. This offers children an opportunity to see, hear, say and do worship at their own level, including eye level. The appropriate use of symbols, gestures, movement and music suitable for a child’s understanding can heighten the experience of the transcendent and mirrors what is happening in the main assembly. Recruit and form a team of leaders and offer this engaging worship for young children in your parish! We are here to help!
PRIMARY AGED
YOUTH GROUPS
Young people today are making a personal decision about faith and their relationship with God as early as 10 years old with the median age being 13.
Primary aged youth groups are an opportunity for these young people to be invited into an encounter with Jesus Christ and to provide a place for them to belong within their Catholic Community. They also provide a significant opportunity for Catholic schools and parishes to collaborate in building strong and growing ministries to these young people.
Contact us to explore this opportunity for ministry in your local context.
Playgroup
Playgroups are an informal and relaxed opportunity for parents or caregivers and their children (not yet primary school aged) to connect in a parish setting. Volunteers from the parish support the parents/caregivers as they meet other local families and develop friendships in a safe environment.
A parish-based playgroup is about building relationships and creating a community around your church.
Contact us for more information about how a playgroup could enhance the Children and Families ministry of your parish.
