What is Encounter?

Encounter is a Brisbane-wide Youth project run under Archdiocesan Ministries Founded in 2020, our mission is to get the largest amount of young people to encounter Jesus and live The Gospel!

We now have four locations: Springfield (that’s you!), Kedron, Caboolture and Coomera.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ENCOUNTER?

At Encounter Springfield, we run every Friday night of the school term for grades 7-12, from 6:30pm to about 8:30pm at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish, Springfield Lakes, QLD (58 Opperman Drive). We’ve got great food, fun games, superb praise and worship, and awesome opportunity to dive deeper into faith as a young person through talks and small groups. 

It’s all so good! and bonus, attending is 100% free!

SAVANNAH
Our wonderful music leader! She's got the voice of an angel and always brings the energy when we need. You'll find her leading worship, or in the mosh pit partying it up!

Another face you'll definitely see welcoming you to Youth! Lonny is a master at conversation, and never fails to get a laugh or two. You'll find him at the rego table or shredding on the keyboard in worship! Say hi!

She's here, she's there - she's everywhere! One minute she's leading a game, the next she's doing AV, and the next she's with a mic singing praise?? Erin is the ultimate multiple trick pony, and she can't wait to meet you!

She's got wit as sharp as a tack, and organisation second-to-none! Alyssa is our MC and time-keeper - she helps our night run as smooth as possible!

Our 'human megaphone'! Petelo (Peter in Tongan) is the large voice leading us in games, and when the mosh pit needs a little chant moment. He's also great to talk to in small group!

Although Gael is still in high school, his big YES to leadership is inspiring! Not only is he a beast on the drums, he always has big ideas for evangelisation. He is a great example of a modern day disciple!

Ignite Conference 2024!

From the 19th to the 22nd of September, eighteen of our young people got to attend Ignite Conference 2024!

To not only get to be surrounded by so many other young people wanting to experience more of Jesus, but to get to experience ourselves how God is working in our lives was absolutely life-changing!
